DD26 Fishing Single Side Steering Lock

Nicely made. Does the job ok. Seems a little cumbersome. Holds the engine fairly still but there is some slight movement but not much. The engine doesn’t flop sideways so it works. The strap is a little difficult to get really tight and snug and had a difficult time getting it through the buckle clamp. Otherwise a nice product and well made.

The steering lock is well built. The lock snaps onto the steering rod and does not move. The heavy duty strap could be a little longer in order to make cinching the strap a little easier. My boat has a large engine and it's difficult to get a grip on the strap under the engine. I plan on buying other products from DD26.

The peace of mind knowing I am doing the right thing to protect the investment of fun.

I concept is good; the logic is good, but the execution relating to tolerances are a wee to tight. My engine is relatively new and the rod was clean; i made sure of that. The component that wraps around the rod is just a wee bit too tight. I could not get the pin to close after many cleanings and attempts. I am going to take my Dremel grinder and relieve the interior radius just a bit so the clamp will close and the latch pin will set into place. Consider just a wee bit more radial tolerance on the section wrapping the rod.
